WWI, WW1 Letter, Fort Adams, Rhode Island, 1917

Was written by a soldier at Fort Adams, Rhode Island, in 1917. From the letter…….Oscar said that the train killed our cow……..Say do you know where those boys are that joined the Army some time ago. They may be here but if they are I can’t find them. But they could be here a year and I don’t guess I would see them. For there is 7,000 men here now……..I say that was bad luck but I may have worse luck than that before I get back from France. It will take 5 transport ships to carry us across. We have the best band here that you ever heard I hear them playing now. They play every morning for about two hours. We had a parade yesterday and I wish you could have seen all of us together........
